B’nei Mitzvah
B’nei Mitzvah
Training to become a Bar- or Bat- Mitzvah at TBI is one of our most sacred obligations. Rabbi works one-on-one with all students beginning about 5 months prior to their service date. All students learn to conduct most of the worship service, including all liturgy, Torah aliyot, haftarah, and accompanying blessings. In addition, students compose a speech and complete special projects that better connect them to their Jewish ancestry and faith. All Bar/Bat Mitzvah students must have completed a minimum of 3 years of religious school education at TBI (or a comparable Jewish school) to be considered for this process. To schedule a date for your child’s simcha, contact the temple office.
A worship service during which a young person becomes a Bar or Bat Mitzvah occurs at 10 a.m. and is noted in our calendar and quarterly Bulletin.
ALL are warmly invited and encouraged to attend our Bar/Bat Mitzvah worship services and to shower our youth with praise and good wishes for their accomplishments.
